The Very Foreign Way
I was reading this Catholic article about pornography addiction someone linked the other day. But one quote tangentially related to the topic at hand stood out:
Unmarried people need to develop healthy, chaste friendships with members of the opposite sex. Indeed, due to our nature as sexual beings such friendships are essential for maturity and happiness. All human beings relate sexually, but this does not mean relating at the genital level! It means truly loving the other as a person to be valued and not as an object to be used.
Maybe to some that’s kind of a no-brainer, but relative to our culture it’s such a very foreign way of looking at things, isn’t it?
I rather like it.
