Peace is not Served by Ignoring History
Archbishop Chaput of Denver has written a really excellent article for the Denver Catholic Register about the Christian-Muslim conflict: crucial to reconciliation is reciprocal honesty and repentance, in particular a willingness to acknowledge history.
As I’ve written before, Christianity is not a Western innovation. The Middle East was Christian long before it was Muslim, and its mass conversion to Islam was not a peaceful one.
