One reader sensibly pointed out that since the female “ordinands” were on record as rejecting the most fundamental Catholic teachings, they’ve pretty much excommunicated themselves, however much they insist on being Catholic. It’s not like they’re simply violating some obscure rule or another.

If you’re going to make up your own religion, it’s a lot better to just go and do it openly. Taking the name of an existing religion with the expectation that all of its members will come and join your version of it is just a bit silly and more than a little dishonest.

I think this will be my last post on the subject for a long, long time; I’ve given these ladies more than enough press already.
