Ruby 1.8.x on HP-UX?
Back when I was trying to build Ruby 1.8.4 on HP-UX, I asked on ruby-talk if anyone else had successfully built it on that platform. I don’t recall ever getting a response, but I never pursued it since (after a bit of library hacking and some gray hairs) I finally succeeded.
Lately I’ve been seeing more posts from others trying, unsuccessfully, to build it there too. I keep hoping someone will eventually report success, but so far nobody has. Even the vaunted HP-UX Software Porting Archive has nothing newer than Ruby 1.6.
Am I alone?
