Five months ago, the infamous Jyllands-Posten cartoons were published. Snarky, but - although they did depict Mohammed - they were mild by the standards of political cartoons.
They made their rounds, even republished in a major Egyptian newspaper with a large Muslim readership. During the height of Ramadan.
No outpouring of hatred.
No riots. No burning of flags.
(No murders.)
And then, later. Danish Imam Ahmad Abu Ladan, apparently unable to garner sufficient sympathy for his outrage back home, took his cause to the Middle East, along with … just a few … additional, falsified, very deliberately offensive, cartoons.
