RGB to Pantone
Since we’re doing branding stuff lately, out of idle curiousity I set
out to find out the Pantone color corresponding to Inkscape Blue (#0083ab).
Surprisingly, there are actually a few tools on the web to find approximate
PMS matches for RGB colors, the best of which appears to be WarpGear’s
Pantone® Color Look up.
I don’t expect it to last very long, however.
(In case you were curious, the closest match appears to be a double application of PMS 801, though I’d want to consult a real Pantone® swatch book before speccing any jobs, especially with the extra cost of a double strike.)
