Lawrence Lessig’s written an excellent article about Anime Music Videos coming under increasing legal and technical threat.

I think, though, that the issue isn’t specifically the danger of a read-only Internet, but rather of read-only culture in general. Anime fandom, modeled on the Japanese doujinshi scene, is one of the last holdouts of serious participatory culture in the West.
